I help people learn meditation and other spiritual practices so they can awaken to greater vitality, mindfulness, insight, compassion, and intuition.
Spiritual practice has both nourished me and challenged me. It’s answered some of my most significant questions about life, it makes my life more exciting and meaningful, and it helps me push the edges of what’s possible. I feel honored to serve as a spiritual mentor to those who are on a path like mine.
I describe my views on awakening and spiritual practice in this series of articles. Before contacting me for mentoring, consider reading a few of those articles to discover whether my approach to spirituality resonates with yours.
There are several ways I can support you on your spiritual journey:
- I can teach you spiritual practices (such as meditation)
- I can use my experience to guide you around pitfalls and obstacles on your spiritual path, toward faster and more efficient routes
- I can listen as you describe your spiritual experiences, and I can provide supportive feedback.
- I can coach you as you apply spiritual skills in practical, real-life situations.
The best way to cultivate awakening is through a spiritual practice routine—and the best practice routine is one that’s customized to your life, your needs, and your intentions. If you already have a routine of practices that you engage with regularly, we’ll start from there; if you don’t have a practice routine, we’ll develop one together.
Spiritual mentoring works best when we communicate on a regular basis. That way, you can update me on your experiences in spiritual practice and real-life situations, and I can give you suggestions and feedback that can help you adjust your course before you’ve gone too far off track.
It’s okay to get support from other mentors and teachers. In fact, I think it’s a good idea. Doing so can help you get multiple perspectives on issues you’re facing. I view you as the final authority on your practices and your life.
I offer spiritual mentoring to adults via email and scheduled sessions:
Mentoring by email can be an affordable way for us to communicate regularly and privately. You can send me as many mentoring emails as you want; my current fees are $280 per month for four responses from me per week, $140 per month for two responses per week, and $70 per month for one response per week.
Scheduled mentoring sessions are distance sessions (via phone, video, and so forth). My current fees are $130 for a 50-minute session, $180 for an 80-minute session, and $235 for a 110-minute session.
You can also give and receive informal spiritual mentoring for free through the Spiritual Awakening for Geeks online community, which I participate in as time permits.
I can be either your psychotherapist or your spiritual mentor, but I can’t be both. Spiritual mentoring isn’t a substitute for psychotherapy.
